The most minimal Adidas. The Taekwondo JQ4775 is not a running shoe, not a training shoe, and not a lifestyle sneaker in the conventional sense. It is a martial arts shoe translated into streetwear — and the translation is almost entirely faithful. The silhouette is flat, low, and pointed: a shape that comes directly from the Taekwondo training shoe, designed to move with the foot rather than cushion it. There are no laces. The upper is a single piece of smooth black leather that you slip into, with no eyelets, no tongue, no lacing system of any kind. The only break in the surface is the diamond quilted pattern on the toe cap and forefoot — a detail borrowed directly from traditional martial arts footwear, where the quilting reinforces the striking surface of the foot. Three white stripes run across the midfoot: wide, clean, and high-contrast against the black leather. “SMIH-LS” is printed on the side. The heel counter is white. The sole is honey amber gum, ultra-flat and almost imperceptible — the closest thing to barefoot that Adidas makes. Comes in a dark charcoal grey Adidas box. Available in EU 36–45 — the most architecturally interesting, most culturally specific shoe in the Adidas Originals range.
